Our compostable shoe covers are a sustainable alternative to standard PE disposable overshoes, designed for use in hospitals, pharmaceutical units, food processing facilities, and other hygiene-controlled environments. The cover is made from a compostable biofilm that offers the same look, feel, and protective barrier as conventional polyethylene, while being designed to break down under industrial composting conditions at end of life.
The shoe cover is a simple slip-on style with an elasticated opening for a universal, secure fit, and is available in a choice of colors to suit different facility or departmental color-coding needs.
Breaks down under industrial composting conditions instead of persisting as plastic waste for decades
Supports compliance with India's Plastic Waste Management Rules and CPCB compostable-plastic requirements
Retains the look, feel, and protective performance of a standard PE shoe cover — no compromise on hygiene barrier
Reduces long-term environmental footprint for hospitals, pharma units, and food facilities with high single-use consumption
Helps organisations meet internal ESG / sustainability targets and green-procurement policies
Lightweight and comfortable for extended wear during shift-length use
Remove the shoe cover from its pack and identify the front (toe) and elasticated opening
Slide the cover over the shoe/boot, pulling the elasticated edge over the heel for a snug, secure fit
Ensure the sole area lies flat against the shoe to reduce the chance of slipping
Replace immediately if torn, punctured, or visibly soiled
Remove and discard after single use — do not reuse
Segregate used covers into the designated compostable/organic waste stream, not general plastic recycling
Where industrial composting collection is unavailable, dispose of via standard facility waste protocols (biohazard protocols apply if used in a contaminated area)
Store unused stock in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture, as compostable films can begin to degrade under prolonged heat/humidity exposure
Note approximate shelf life with supplier, as compostable films typically have a shorter recommended shelf life than conventional PE
